PC TuneUp
A free, locally running tool to help diagnose and fix problems that slow down a Windows PC.
How it started
A couple of years ago, as we started experimenting more seriously with building AI agents, I kept running into a very practical limitation: my laptop was struggling to keep up.
My earlier laptop was already constrained in terms of capacity, and I had been using a paid AVG TuneUp subscription to help keep it running smoothly. When the subscription expired, I wondered why I couldn't build something similar myself.
That's how PC TuneUp began.
What I built
PC TuneUp checks for 29 potential performance and system-health issues on Windows 10 and 11, explains what might be slowing down the computer, and provides fixes or practical guidance.
Storage cleanup
Temporary files, browser caches and duplicate files.
CPU & fan
Heavy processes, fan noise and temperature warnings.
Memory
High RAM usage, memory-hungry apps and possible leaks.
Startup & system
Startup programs, background services and power settings.
The app also includes a health score, prioritized recommendations, network checks and one-click fixes where supported. It runs locally without a cloud service or subscription. Some fixes require administrator access.
